Granary Road Farmers Market
If an oasis filled with plants, flowers and garden essentials isn’t enough, you’ll also find a farmer’s market every weekend at Granary Road selling local crafts, food and more. Head outside the barn doors of the market to keep the kids entertained on their summer holidays with mini golf, an Active Learning Park including zip-lines, slides, trampolines and more. Playgrounds in West Macleod
West Macleod includes three communities in Southwest Calgary developed by Anthem: Sirocco, Belmont and Pine Creek. Each community has its own themed playground fit for a variety of ages and abilities. Directly within the community of Sirocco is a nature themed park with swings, slides and more. Drive a couple of minutes north to the award winning playground in Belmont called the Mounds of Fun, or head east to see Pine Creek’s aquatic themed playground.
Trails in Southwest Calgary
Calgary is renowned for its gorgeous mountain views and easily accessible walking trails; the community of Sirocco is no exception. Paved pathways weave their way around the community’s storm pond, but if you meander into the gorgeous foothills that surround the community, you’ll find a myriad of trails within the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area. The area’s easy-to-moderate trail systems follow rolling terrain and offer mountain views close to home, giving you a taste of the great outdoors without having to spend money on a national park pass or extra gas (though the Rocky Mountains are just a day trip away from Southwest Calgary).
